Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earned plenty of accolades during the OKC Thunder’s championship run.
The 26-year-old guard became just the fourth player to ever win the scoring title, regular season MVP and Finals MVP in the same season. And on Tuesday, he accomplished something else for the first time in his career.
Gilgeous-Alexander was announced as the cover athlete for the standard edition of NBA 2K26. The video game will be available for pre-order on Wednesday and is set to release in September.
Gilgeous-Alexander is the second active OKC player to grace the standard edition cover of NBA 2K. Kevin Durant did so for NBA 2K15, while Russell Westbrookwas the cover athlete for EA Sports’ NBA Live 16.
The selection further solidifies Gilgeous-Alexander as one of the biggest names in basketball. He also officially signed a four-year, $285 million contract extension Tuesday that’ll keep him in OKC through the 2030-31 campaign.
