The Florida Gators have seen their fair share of ups and downs when it comes to recruiting. One of the more interesting recruiting processes has been with four-star edge rusher KJ Ford. He was viewed to go to both Ohio State and Texas A&M at one point, and Thursday afternoon provided another twist when the Alabama Crimson Tide received expert predictions.
Friday morning, which is the day Ford is set to commit, brought another change, as On3 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong and Rivals’ Sam Spiegleman have both flipped their expert predictions back to the Gators.
KJ Ford predicted to commit to Florida Gators
This would be a big win for the Gators who need another talented player on the defensive line in the 2026 class to join four-star Kendall Guervil and four-star JaReylan McCoy. They struck out for players like five-star Tristan Henderson and Ford would fit in perfectly.
If Napier was able to get Ford into the fold, it would be a major win and ease concerns about the recruiting class, especially on the defensive side of the football.
Now, things could always change at the last second, but the 116th-ranked prospect and 18th-ranked edge rusher per the On3 Sports Industry Ranking would be the third-highest player in the Gators’ recruiting class thus far.
Friday afternoon will tell us a lot.
