Peter Gulacsi’s future at RB Leipzig remains uncertain, with the experienced goalkeeper’s contract set to expire in the summer.
After 11 years at the clubs, the 35-year-old has yet to agree an extension, and talks over a new deal have reportedly stalled in recent weeks.
Both Leipzig and Gulacsi are said to be open to continuing their collaboration beyond the summer, but no concrete agreement has been reached so far.
According to Bild, sporting director Marcel Schafer is planning to hold talks with the Hungary international during Leipzig’s training camp in January in an attempt to clarify the situation.
Should those negotiations fail, Gulacsi are unlikely to be short of options. The report claims that several clubs from the Premier League, Serie A and the Bundesliga are closely monitoring his situation.
From January 1, the experienced goalkeeper will be free to negotiate with other clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement for the 2025/26 season if no new deal with Leipzig is agreed.
