There’s one glaring omission in this bizarre, salacious, historically unprecedented tale of sordid allegations resulting in a Title IX investigation against Florida basketball coach Todd Golden.
Denial. Where is it?
Why, oh why, have we not heard anything publicly coming from Golden that flat out says he never did anything to warrant multiple women accusing him of sexual harassment, stalking and cyberstalking, with one alleging the coach sent a picture/video of his male organ?
If it’s because Golden is prohibited by Title IX guidelines from denying the allegations, and nobody at the school is willing to concede that point, it doesn’t change the fact this remains a disturbing story on all kinds of levels.
Either Golden showed an incredible lapse of judgment by crossing several lines for a coach in a position of such prestige and authority, or he’s being falsely accused of despicable things that could do irreparable harm to his reputation.
The chances of there being some kind of in-between outcome on this matter appears remote. It’s likely one or the other. However, the burden of proof is presumably on the women to substantiate the accusations, not on Golden to disprove them, which could work out in his favor.
