INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Las Vegas Raiders are leaving the NFL Scouting Combine with a better idea of some of the 2024 NFL Draft prospects they may want to select. The Combine is an opportunity for teams to see players test athletically and meet with them to learn about their backgrounds. The Raiders met with several prospects to see who best fits what they are building. One area the Raiders will consider strongly is the offensive line. Las Vegas has a few upcoming free agents on their offensive line, and this draft class is full of talented linemen.
Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga could be one of those players. A First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Pac 12 member in 2023, the massive Fuaga told me he has met with the Raiders. “It was a good meeting,” Fuaga said. “Just like any other meeting, it was a great meeting to meet those guys, and it’s just another one you have to get through.”
Fuaga’s family has a rooting interest in the Raiders, and he told me he would love the opportunity to play for the Silver and Black. “It would be a blessing,” he said. “I’m ready for any team to pick me up, but Raiders, I have a lot of family members that are Raiders fans too, so nothing but a blessing to play for them.”
Fuaga is one of the biggest presences at offensive tackle in this draft class. He stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 334 pounds but moves well for his size. Fuaga’s best trait is his ability to move players in the run game. Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy runs the football at a high rate, so Fuaga would fit in at right tackle for the Raiders seamlessly. Not only is he a good run blocker, but he is also an excellent pass blocker. According to Pro Football Focus, Fuaga allowed just 12 pressures all season and did not allow a sack. He was the second-highest-graded offensive tackle in the country in 2023, behind just Notre Dame’s Joe Alt.
