NEW ORLEANS – Sprinter Louie Hinchliffewas recognized as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) Scholar Athlete of the Year, and a total of 11 student-athletes were named All-Academic Athletes, the organization announced Monday.
Hinchliffe was named the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year after maintaining a 3.51 cumulative grade point average. The Sheffield, England, native won the 100-meter dash at the 2024 NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a personal best time of 9.95. Hinchliffe also qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games for Great Britain, for whom he will compete in the 100-meter dash and is eligible for the 4×100-meter relay.
