The city of Detroit has been buzzing this month. If you wanted to get more specific, the city has been buzzing in the last couple of days. The Motor City has seen two major contract extensions, and new uniform reveals, as well as being the host of the 2024 NFL Draft. It is an exciting time to be a Detroit sports fan and that is something fans have been waiting to hear for quite some time.
Here are the major events that have happened in Detroit that Lions fans can celebrate!
WXYZ) — For the second straight night, Detroiters have showed up for the NFL Draft. At 6:40 p.m. the NFL said the maximum capacity has been hit for the draft and that general admission has been paused.
WXYZ) — Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy was drafted by the Minnesota Vikigns with the 10th overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday.
McCarthy led the Wolverines to a national championship last season and was a highly-sought after quarterback going into the league.
His parents, Jim and Megan, joined 7 News Detroit’s “Detroit on the Clock” special Friday to recall the incredible night and talk about what it felt like to be there when McCarthy was drafted.
