After more than a month of rehabilitation in Los Angeles, Deshaun Watson will return to the practice grounds of the Cleveland Browns next week. Watson underwent surgery on November 21 in Los Angeles to repair the displaced glenoid bone in his right throwing shoulder. On Saturday, he will host his “Christmas Around the World” holiday party downtown, which will bring about 300 children from local organizations he has worked with. Watson will also speak to the media during the event in his first interview since the surgery.
Watson is not traveling with the Browns to Houston on Christmas Eve, when they play his old Texans (8-6). A win would put the team at 10-5 and secure a postseason berth, among other possibilities. However, he will return to club headquarters on Monday to assist the Browns in getting ready for the Jets’ visit on Thursday night.
“Have been communicating with him throughout the week,” Kevin Stefanski stated on Friday. “Happy that he will be joining us in the building again next week.” He watches us play while living and dying in Los Angeles, yet he still gives his teammates daily encouragement. Thus, it will be beneficial to have him return in person.
