PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns are set to play the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, and they won’t have Kevin Durant’s services.
Durant has been ruled out with his hamstring injury, according to the team.
Durant missed Monday night’s victory against the Portland Trail Blazers due to the same injury. He’s missed five games thus far due to ankle and foot ailments as well.
Many speculated Durant was being rested due on the second night of a back-to-back, though coach Frank Vogel refuted that thought and said he tweaked his hamstring in the fourth quarter vs Orlando the night prior.
Durant is currently averaging 29.9 points per game to pair with 6.3 rebounds and six assists per night.
Phoenix was able to snag a win vs Portland even after one of Devin Booker’s worst shooting performances of the year thanks to Bradley Beal’s 21 points. The Suns believe he’s been the major spark plug during their four game winning streak:
Eric Gordon, who was questionable on Monday with right calf soreness, ultimately played and scored 12 points.
Nassir Little is available with an orbital fracture while Damion Lee remains out for Phoenix.
This will be the first meeting between the Suns and Clippers. Los Angeles has won their last 12-of-14 games and are currently the No. 4 seed in the West. Phoenix is 18-15 and cling on to the No. 8 spot.
Opening tip is slated for just past 7:00 PM Arizona time
