PHOENIX — The anticipated is official.
Phoenix Suns superstar guard Devin Booker has officially been named as one of seven reserves for the Western Conference in the 73rd edition of the NBA All-Star game.
The selection was announced on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” just hours after being named Player of the Month for the Western Conference in January.
Assistant coaches voted Booker in for the fourth time of his career.
Booker joins teammate Kevin Durant as representatives for the franchise – Durant was selected as a starter last week and will mark his 14th appearance in the NBA’s annual star showcase.
Suns fans should keep an eye out for the three-point contest participants to be announced, as Suns G/F Grayson Allen could be chosen to participate in the shootout – he leads the league in three-point percentage over halfway through the season.
The Suns’ franchise player was more than deserving of the selection, ranking sixth in the NBA in PPG, 10th in APG and boasting shooting splits of 50.2/38.8/87.8. In recent form, Booker has slowly emerged as sleeper in NBA MVP discussions over the last month.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver previously announced in October the All-Star Game would return to the traditional East vs. West format, abandoning the player-draft system that had been around since 2018.
