The Chicago Bears will be looking into all 31 of their opponent’s free-agent situations this offseason to find out which players are the best fits for their roster next year. The Baltimore Ravens made a big playoff push, but now they have big free-agent decisions to make, with Lamar Jackson set to see his salary increase.
What players on the Baltimore Ravens could the Bears sign in free agency?
Could the Chicago Bears spend up to replace Eddie Jackson?
The Chicago Bears released Eddie Jackson, so they have an obvious need for free safety. One name that is going to be connected to the team a lot in the next couple of weeks is Geno Stone. Stone was a free agent just last year, and no teams were interested. Baltimore re-signed him for cheap, and they are glad they did.
When Marcus Williams went on the injured reserve, the Ravens called on Stone to start at free safety in his place. He went on to record seven interceptions. Williams is back and healthy, so Stone is unlikely to return to the team that he broke out with.
He is much better in the free safety role and would be best playing with someone like Jaquan Brisker, who needs to stay near the box. This fit makes a lot of sense, and the only question from here is how much money Geno Stone is looking for on the open market, and how much money do the Bears want to invest in free safety this offseason.
