While the team is still assessing whether Pickett is still worthy of getting one more shot in the NFL, one critic came forward with hard words towards the team’s front office for insisting on working with something that, in his opinion, clearly doesn’t work.

Stephen A. Smith appeared on First Take to talk about the current QB situation in Pittsburgh. Judging by the way Smith was talking, it’s easy to figure out that Smith wasn’t thrilled with the team seemingly eager to give the Pitt product one more shot at QB:Smith even went public and declared that he would rather have quarterbacks like Kirk Cousins, Justin Fields, and Russell Wilson take over the Steelers offense than try to run the passing game through Pickett once again.
Pickett didn’t have the best sophomore campaign for the Steelers this year. The 25-year-old threw for 2070 passing yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions through 12 games before he was benched for Mason Rudolph.
