The Reds are still in the mourning period due to Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Merseyside this summer, but there will be no rest for those who have been assigned to continue the success of the German coach beyond his exit.
Former sporting director Michael Edwards has returned to the club to oversee all operations including recruitment, and he has already appointed former Bournemouth director of football Richard Hughes who will occupy Edwards’ former role.
Hughes will be expected to make the transition into new manager Arne Slot’s tenure is as smooth and successful as possible, as while a post-Klopp decline is predicted by many, the club’s hierarchy will be keen to remain strongly ambitious and highly competitive without him.
As a result, the new chapter is expected to inspire not only a fresh perspective from the former Feyenoord boss, but also an opportunity to put faith into a new philosophy which could ultimately bring new talent into the squad to suit his style.

Popular Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo are now reporting that Liverpool are in the race to sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo this summer, but will have strong competition to score the Spaniard’s signature.
Alongside the Merseyside giants, it is claimed that Barcelona, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are also interested in the 26-year-old, and it is further noted that he has a £60m release clause in his contract that will expire on July 15th.
Will Liverpool sign Dani Olmo?
The Reds will welcome their brand new manager when he officially takes over from Klopp on June 1st, but even more interestingly than seeing Slot settle in will be the player acquisitions he makes in the coming weeks and months when working alongside Edwards and Hughes.
The interest in Olmo is interesting as Liverpool already possess a wide range of attacking players and forwards, however, it would make sense if the club were planning to move on players this summer
