June 8: OF Kyle Stowers exits with right wrist discomfort
Stowers exited Saturday’s game vs. the Rays at Tropicana Field in the bottom of the sixth inning. The 26-year-old was replaced in left field by Colton Cowser.
The soreness stemmed from a dive that Stowers made on the turf field at Rogers Centre in Toronto earlier this week, per manager Brandon Hyde, who expects Stowers to be fine moving forward. He is batting .300 (9-for-30) in 15 games for Baltimore this season.
June 8: OF Austin Hays (bruised ribs) out of lineup, available to come off bench
Hays underwent X-rays after getting hit by a pitch in the rib area during the ninth inning of Thursday’s 6-5 loss at Toronto, and the imaging came back negative. Manager Brandon Hyde said that Hays has bruising and swelling, but he is continuing to improve and was available to come off the bench during Saturday’s game vs. the Rays at Tropicana Field.
