NFL denies report involving Eagles vs Packers Week 1 clash in Brazil

Covering an NFL team is both a nerve-racking and rewarding experience. Every day we wake up, we talk about the Philadelphia Eagles. Seriously, what could be more fun?

Those of you who are fortunate enough to live that dream as we do are, no doubt, in agreement about where the aggravation lies… Say it with us… Social media trolls… They’re enough to make you ignore the comment line entirely.

There are two types who are truly annoying, those that scream ‘fake news’ and ‘click bait’ at the top of their lungs. Sadly, however, there are times when those cries are given credence.

A report mentioning the Eagles vs Packers Week 1 clash in Brazil is debunked by league offices.

Here’s a lesson for those who spend their time reading NFL news. ‘Click bait’ might be the most overused and misunderstood phrase in the english language. The phrase always carries another connotation, but all content is created with the desire of making the consumer ‘click’ on its posting to explore the contents.

Now, there is both responsible and irresponsible click bait. That’s where the line is drawn. Last weekend, good reporting and social media journeyed back to the stone age.

Reports surfaced that the Eagles vs Green Bay Packers would be disallowed to wear green during their Week 1 clash in Brazil. Hold on a second… We all realize green is a team color for both franchises, right?

The issue was, supposedly, that there were gangs in Brazil that represented themselves with the same color. Things even escalated to an area where it was believed both teams would travel to the stadium in armored vehicles for protection. Don’t take our word for it. Take a look:
