The Boston Red Sox are rolling toward the All-Star break with momentum after moving to 10 games over .500 with Tuesday’s victory over the Oakland Athletics.
Alex Cora continues to get the most out of his youthful Red Sox roster, which earned the praise of MLB Network analyst Mark DeRosa.
“The great managers can change their philosophy based on how their roster adapts,” DeRosa shared on “MLB Central” on Wednesday. “There was moments earlier in the season where their starting rotation was carrying them and they were hitting a ton of homers. Then, they went through where they couldn’t catch a ground ball. That had to eat his soul. But he stayed with them and kept running them out there. Now, they’re stealing bags and playing a little more exciting style of play.”
DeRosa often finds the most creative descriptions he can to describe the game. So of course he had something up his sleeve for the latest hot stretch for the Red Sox.
