Karen Weekly has agreed to a one-year contract extension, Tennessee announced Wednesday.
The Lady Vols softball coach is now under contract through June 30, 2029 after leading UT to a second straight SEC regular-season championship this spring. UT missed out on a second consecutive appearance at the Women’s College World Series, losing in three games during the NCAA super regional.
Weekly’s base salary was raised to $500,000 under the extension she signed in 2023, which was a nearly 50% raise. Her new contract extension increases the base salary to $525,000 annually through 2029.
“Karen’s unwavering determination to be the best and build a championship program has been exciting to be a part of,” Tennessee athletics director Danny White in a school release. “She exemplifies the competitive excellence we aim for in our athletics department. We are thrilled to secure her dynamic leadership for the long term and continue competing for titles on Rocky Top.”
