Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens wasn’t going to miss the chance to support his wife Simone Biles at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Owens got permission from the Bears to leave training camp and fly to Paris to watch Biles compete in-person, where she won gold in the team final, all-around and vault, and claimed silver in the floor exercise. And now that Biles’ Olympic journey is over (at least until 2028, potentially), she gets to switch into what he calls “football wifey” mode. During a recent interview with Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network, Biles opened up about how her and Owens to support one another during their respective athletic endeavors while admitting something surprising about the 29-year-old defensive back. “I feel like he knows more gymnastics than I know football,” Biles said. “He’s very educated. He’s kind of a nerd when it comes to stuff like that. So, I just make sure to find him on the field, then whatever happens, happens. Because it’s such a sport that you never know what can happen. So once I find him, I find him.”
