With the early signing day approaching, Alabama football is once again looking to secure one of the top recruiting classes in the 2025 cycle.
The Crimson Tide and coach Kalen DeBoer currently have 22 commitments for the 2025 class with a few more targets they are looking to add. Alabama’s most recent recruiting class in 2024 finished with 27 commitments and came in as the No. 2 recruiting class in the country per the 247Sports Composite. The Crimson Tide‘s most recent No. 1 recruiting class came the year before in 2023.
Ahead of early signing day, here are some of Alabama football’s recruiting needs.
Alabama football’s recruiting needs
The major haul of the Crimson Tide’s 2025 class is seemingly its offensive line with five commitments, coming in as Alabama’s highest-ranked group of offensive linemen since 2022.
There are a few spots the Crimson Tide could add in 2025, one being wide receiver. Alabama had two in its cycle with five-star Caleb Cunningham and three-star Lotzeir Brooks, but following Cunningham’s flip to Ole Miss in November, Alabama is down to one wide receiver in the class. Good for Alabama, though, it does have a lot of youth in its current wide receiver room, headlined by Ryan Williams.
Safety is also another position the Crimson Tide could benefit from adding. It has one safety in the class in four-star Ivan Taylor and it is an older position group on Alabama’s current roster headlined by Malachi Moore and DeVonta Smith. Alabama does have two cornerback commitments in Dijon Lee and Chuck McDonald in its secondary but could benefit from adding another player to fill the hole at safety.
