Less than two days before Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou expects to hear his name called in the first round of the NFL Draft, the school received a commitment from another beast of an offensive lineman.
Former Florida State lineman Jaylen Early will be taking his talents from Tallahassee to Columbia, On3.com’s Hayes Fawcett posted on Tuesday. Early’s decision comes a day after he met with the Missouri coaching staff according to PowerMizzou.com.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound interior lineman started seven games and appeared in a total of 17 across three seasons with the Seminoles. A four-star Class of 2022 recruit out of Duncanville, Tex., Early received offers from over-30 schools including Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Ohio State, before landing at Florida State.
He’s the third player – and first offensive lineman – to commit to Missouri during the spring transfer portal (April 16-25), joining former Illinois State wide receiver Xavier Loyd and Iowa tight end Gavin Hoffman.
Early joins the Tigers with two years of eligibility remaining.
He’ll join a stacked Tigers offensive line returning that includes center Connor Tollison, former Oklahoma transfer Cayden Green, Logan Reichert, Tristan Wilson, Jayven Richardson and Curtis Peagler, all of whom saw the field last season.
They’ll be tasked with clearing a path for Ahmad Hardy, an extremely talented tailback who transferred in from Louisiana-Monroe on December 18.
The winter transfer portal window occurred December 9-28, 2024. With three days remaining in the spring window, Mizzou currently sits at 20 total incoming transfers and 25 leaving the program. In 247Sports.com’s 2025 Transfer Football Team Rankings, the Tigers rank sixth overall and third among SEC schools.
