Things are picking up on the recruiting trail for college football programs around the country, but it may be impossible to find a team that is as hot as Alabama.
The Crimson Tide have never really had issues attracting top talent, but some did assume that following Nick Saban‘s retirement, they wouldn’t automatically have a top-five class every year. A sentiment that appears not to be the case anymore, as ESPN’s Paul Finebaum said that Kalen DeBoer is recruiting as well as Saban was during his heyday.
A bold statement that may have been proven true on Wednesday, as Alabama landed a commitment from five-star wide receiver Cedarian Morgan.
An addition that led to fellow five-star and Alabama linebacker commit, Xavier Griffin, issuing a warning to the rest of college football.
“Another one soon🤫,” wrote Griffin.
It’s unclear what else DeBoer and company have up their sleeve, but people around the sport are certainly taking notice.
As pointed out by On3’s Hayes Fawcett, the Tide have secured 10 commitments in 11 days. While that is impressive in its own right, Alabama also has four five-star commits, which is twice as many as the next program.
According to On3’s recruiting rankings, the Crimson Tide is home to the No. 6 class in the country. With Fawcett also writing that “more fireworks” are on the way, it seems as if Alabama will be gunning for the No. 1 class, currently held by Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans.
