Robert Griffin III may have barked up the wrong tree. Shaquille O’Neal recently issued a stern warning to the former NFL quarterback for his commentary and posts about WNBA star Angel Reese.
Diesel recently appeared on the Off The Record podcast and addressed RGIII sharing a problematic edit of the Chicago Sky forward’s NBA 2K26 cover. In it, a monkey is shown wearing her Sky uniform and mimics her movements on the actual cover.
“RGIII, tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I’m gonna punch you in your f**king face,” Shaq said emphatically. “K. It’s enough. Like, I don’t usually do stuff like this but stop it, bro. You got your job, you got your podcast, leave my Angel Reese alone. I’m the one calling her and telling her not to respond, f**king stop it. That’s the last time. K. Thank you.”
Shaq had much more to say about the sports analyst’s legacy, as he is often slammed for his questionable opinions on Black people. “It’s a shame that all the stuff you did in your life, you’re gonna be remembered for your podcast,” he said. “That should tell you you’re not that f**king great. I don’t want to be remembered for Shaq’s Big Podcast. I do not. Like leave those girls alone. You already spoke on it. Let it go. So what? He hates her. So f**king what? I hate you now for messing with her. Now what? Say something about me.”
Reese often finds herself on the bad side of commentary due to her rivalry with Caitlin Clark, which dates back to their legendary college battles. The record-breaking rebounder and Clark have both publicly stated that they do not dislike each other, but it has not stopped their fans from targeting each player, nor analysts from constantly positioning them against one another.
