You may know Anthony “Spice” Adams from his NFL career.
Then again, you may not.
The defensive tackle was a role player for nine seasons for the Bears and 49ers. He started more than eight games in a season only three times. He never had more than 2 1/2 sacks in a year.
It is more likely that you know him from his social media career.
Spice Adams is a social media rock star, or, if you prefer to treat this like it’s serious business, a social media influencer. Across all social media platforms, he has nearly 2 million followers.
His characters like Cream E. Biggums, Vernice, Iron Man, The Griller, Fat Wonder, Coach Dunn Dunn, Monarch Mike and Eight Ball Jamie deliver light-hearted escapes. With cartwheels, jump rope side swings and “spinaroonies into pushups,” he’s more than funny. He’s likable. He’s memorable.
His videos might not be what you are accustomed to, or what you expect. He won’t go blue and he isn’t pushing a political agenda. He doesn’t even do much football.
“It’s very rare that people say they follow me because I played for the Bears,” he said. “A lot of people don’t even know I played in the NFL. If I put up a picture of me when I played, people think it’s photoshopped.”
