Steffi Graf remains head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of most weeks spent at No 1 in the WTA Rankings and, in fact, her record is unlikely to be broken in the next decade or so.
Up until recently, Graf was the overall record holder for most weeks spent at No 1 in both men’s and women’s tennis as her tally of 377 had stood since March 1997, but Novak Djokovic surpassed that milestone in 2023 and he has also gone past the 400-week mark.
But Graf’s ridiculous WTA milestone is safe as it will take someone who starts from scratch seven years and 13 weeks to draw level with the German.
