Carlos Alcaraz roars in joy, gets mobbed by Team Europe members after helping coach Bjorn Borg to title in Swede’s final Laver Cup appearance
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Taylor Fritz in emphatic fashion in a nailbiting decider to bring the Laver Cup back to Team Europe. This was followed by immense celebration from the Team Europe members who jumped in joy as the Spaniard let out a huge roar.
This special edition of the Laver Cup marked the end of Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe’s rivalry as captains of Team Europe and Team World as they are set to be replaced by Yannick Noah and Andre Agassi starting next year. While the Europeans clinched the first four titles consecutively, Team World bounced back in the last two editions to bring the score to 4-2.
The seventh edition kicked off in Berlin on September 20 with both teams leaving the first day with two points each. However, Team World took a huge 8-4 lead on day 2 courtesy of their ace performers Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, and Alejandro Tabilo.
