When the LSU Football team kicked off the season, Greg Penn III and Harold Perkins were manning the middle of the defense while Whit Weeks was a rotational piece Blake Baker was deploying when needed. Whenever Weeks would enter the game, he’d look like one of the fastest players on the field and would make such a massive impact that they couldn’t keep him on the sideline much longer.
Against South Carolina, Weeks had his first massive game of the season recording 11 tackles helping LSU shut down the Gamecocks rushing attack. He’d follow that game up with impressive showings against South Alabama and UCLA before SEC play resumed.
When LSU faced off against Ole Miss, Whit Weeks was a man possessed recording 18 tackles 10 of which were solo tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.
The next week against Arkansas, Weeks had one of the plays of the season deflecting a pass before intercepting it along with 9 tackles and a sack.
On the season Weeks finishes the regular season with 117 tackles, 59 Solo Tackles which leads the SEC, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 2 forced fumbles, an interception, and four pass breakups. Given how Weeks played this season its easy to get excited about how he’ll play in 2025 with a full season now under his belt.
Greg Penn III is out of eligibility and Harold Perkins may head to the NFL Draft leaving Weeks in the middle. We’ll likely see Whit Weeks alongside Dahvon Keys who has been exciting down the stretch and West Weeks manning the middle which will be one of the strengths of the LSU Football team.
