TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s basketball team (8-1) will travel to Tennessee (5-0) to face the Volunteers on Wednesday in the SEC/ACC Challenge at the Food City Center at 7:15 p.m. on the SEC Network.

The game pits the top two offensive teams in the nation against each other. FSU averages 96.2 points per game, while Tennessee leads at 98.2.

FSU defeated the Volunteers in Tallahassee last season as a part of the ACC/SEC Challenge, claiming the first win over the Vols in program history, 92-91.  Tennessee leads the series, 2-1.

The game will broadcast on the Seminoles Sports Network, 96.5 The Spear on Seminoles.com with Melissa Bruner and Jack Kavovit on the call. Additional coverage will air on Sirius XM channel 385.

Florida State junior guard Ta’Niya Latson was a part of the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Players of the Week for her performance at the Paradise Jam. Latson was one of five players recognized, along with Aneesah Morrow (LSU), Sedona Prince (TCU), Clara Strack (Kentucky), Hailey Van Lith (TCU).

She was also an honorable mention for the AP Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Latson was named MVP, amassing 75 points while leading the Noles over Texas Tech, Missouri State and Gonzaga.

The Miami, native, began the tournament with her second career double-double in a different way than her first. Latson scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while her first double-double, she contributed 34 points and 11 assists against NC Central.

After scoring 21 points against Missouri State, Latson added a triple-double against Gonzaga, scoring 24 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and tying her career high of 10 assists. She is one of four Seminoles in program history and first since 2019 to accomplish the feat.

Latson is one of nine players to perform a triple-double this season.  She leads the nation in scoring at 26.1 points per game.
