Former Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Dan Inman passed away on Monday, Dec. 16.
His cause of death is not public, though Russ Tanner, a friend and former UGA teammate of Inman’s wrote on social media that he had passed away “peacefully.”
“We miss our friend. Daniel Inman peacefully passed away last night,” Tanner said in a Facebook post. “Dan had one of the biggest hearts (literally and figuratively) of anyone I’ve ever known and it gave out on him.
Dan was loved beyond measure and he loved his family beyond measure. Especially his sons!
“We were in the trenches together. We have been groomsmen together. We lived together. We laughed. We fought. We cried. We rejoiced.
“He is my brother and I, like so many others, love Big Dan. I miss him.”
Inman, a 6-foot-7, 300-pound lineman from Hope Mills, North Carolina played for Georgia from 2002 to 2006 under former head coach Mark Richt. After redshirting his freshman year, Inman started at right tackle for four years where he helped lead Georgia to 40 wins and an SEC championship victory over LSU in 2005.
Inman did not play at the NFL level after college but he did use his talents on coaching the youth and most recently was the offensive line coach at Clarke Central High School in Athens, GA.
