Offensively, Kentucky men’s basketball was on fire against the then-undefeated Florida Gators on Saturday, taking down the Gators 106-100.

ESPN’s Myron Medcalf summed up how good Kentucky’s offense was in the matchup on his X account, pointing to offensive points per possession.

“OK. So let’s take a look at how ridiculous this Florida-Kentucky game was. Florida registered 139 points per 100 possessions. Incredible. That would have won almost any game this year. But Kentucky hit 147 POINTS PER 100 POSSESSIONS! The Boston Celtics are averaging 120.4 points per 100 possessions this season,” Medcalf tweeted. “So yes, Kentucky just put together one of the greatest offensive displays in a top-25 matchup that we’ve seen in recent memory.”

If you score that many points, something has to be working. How about lighting it up from beyond the stripe?

The Wildcats shot 14/29 (48%) from three in the matchup while the Gators went 12/34 (35%). They were more efficient with their possessions and scored six more points off of threes, which can be key when you win by just six points.

Important to that effort was a stellar night from senior guard Koby Brea off the bench. Brea dropped 23 points, including 7 made threes. In total, the former Dayton Flyer went 7/9 (78%) from beyond the arc in the matchup.

Kentucky (12-2) plays again tomorrow night, as they’re set to travel to Athens to face off against the Georgia Bulldogs at Stegeman Coliseum.
