Tennessee baseball is ranked No. 5 by Perfect Game in its 2025 preseason rankings.
The reigning national champions are the fourth highest-ranked SEC team in the poll, which was released Monday.
Texas A&M, which Tennessee beat to win the College World Series in June, is ranked No. 1. LSU is No. 2 and Georgia is No. 4. Virginia is ranked No. 3. There are 10 SEC teams ranked in the poll. Texas is No. 7, Florida is No. 11, Arkansas is No. 13, Vanderbilt is No. 15, Oklahoma is No. 20, and Auburn is No. 22.
The Vols face six of the 10 ranked teams in coach Tony Vitello’s eighth season, including hosting Texas A&M from April 4-6 and playing at LSU from April 25-27.
Tennessee begins its title defense with a three-game series against Hofstra at Lindsey Nelson Stadium starting Feb. 14.

The Vols have the most wins in the country in the past five seasons with 226. They have the a national-leading .779 winning percentage in that five-year span. They have won at least 50 games in three of the past four seasons and have reached the CWS three times in those four seasons.
Tennessee baseball won the first national championship in program history last June and are gearing back up for the start of another exciting season that sits just six weeks away.
At this stage of the offseason, the preseason rankings begin to roll in. Tennessee baseball was ranked fifth by Perfect Game in the first edition of such preseason rankings that were announced Monday afternoon.

LSU chimes in with a second-place position while Virginia and Georgia are right in front of the Volunteers in third and fourth. Florida State, Texas, Clemson, Duke and Oregon State round out the top-10 of the Perfect Game preseason rankings.
