REPORT: Deion Sanders considering Hall of Fame running back to join coaching staff

Another Pro Football Hall of Famer could be joining Deion Sanders’ Colorado coaching staff.

BuffZone’s Brian Howell reported Saturday that seven-time Pro Bowl running back Marshall Faulk is “the top candidate” to become Colorado’s new RBs coach. Gary Harrell, who coached running backs under Sanders dating back to their time together at Jackson State, is no longer on the Buffs’ staff, per Howell.

Faulk rushed for over 12,000 yards in his 12-year NFL career. The No. 2 overall selection in the 1994 NFL draft began his career with the Indianapolis Colts before spending his final seven seasons with the St. Louis Rams, who he helped lead to a Super Bowl win in 2000.

After his playing career, Faulk and Sanders worked together as NFL Network analysts from 2006-17. In 2011, the two were members of the same Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

If hired, Faulk would work alongside Tommie Robinson, who was recently named Colorado’s assistant running backs coach (h/t Thee Pregame Show).
