A couple of big-time programs are trying to steal a key commit from the Georgia Bulldogs.

According to Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney, the Miami Hurricanes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are making a run at Bulldogs commit Jontavius Wyman, a 2026 four-star cornerback who has been committed to Georgia since late July.

Gorney noted that Wyman is looking at taking “at least” a couple of visits.

The four-star safety from Jonesboro, Ga., committed to Georgia in July and it looked like his recruitment was basically over but the word now is that Wyman is looking at two other visits at least,” wrote Gorney. “Wyman will definitely be back in Athens and in the end it could be tough to beat the Bulldogs but Nebraska and Miami will get the four-star on campus soon.”

Wyman, 5-foot-11/170 lbs from Jonesboro, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 cornerback in the nation and the No. 15 player in the state of Georgia. He’s also rated as the No. 120 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Scouting report via 247Sports: Versatile secondary defender last verified hovering around 5-foot-11, 170 pounds with a plus-wingspan and adequate arm length. Owns experience playing field and boundary corner along with occasional reps at safety, at this stage of the evaluation process likely profiles to cornerback but could reasonably find a long-term home at all five spots in the defensive backfield. Dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands in all three phases, totaling five interceptions and seven receiving touchdowns to go along with valuable return game experience. Limited third-party verified combine testing data or multi-sport athletic markers aside from a 12.16 100m personal best from his freshman year. Should be viewed as a high-floor coverage ace with limited verified athletic context ahead of his junior season.

I’d be surprised if either Miami or Nebraska actually swipe Wyman from Georgia. But you never say never when it come to recruiting (especially in this era of college football).

This is certainly a recruiting battle for Bulldogs fans to monitor over the next few months. We should have a better idea of where Georgia stands after Wyman takes visits to Miami and Nebraska (if those visits end up happening).
