The LSU Basketball team has gotten off to a rocky start in SEC Play as the Tigers have fallen to 1-5 putting the Tigers in the bottom quarter of the SEC. A massive reason for LSU’s struggles in Conference Play is the fact that the LSU Basketball team has been playing without True Freshman Vyctorius Miller.
The LSU Tigers have been lacking the scoring needed to keep up with some of the best teams in the Conference which has cost them several games. Vyctorius Miller has come off of the SEC’s Availability Report meaning he’ll play against Auburn on Wednesday Night giving the LSU Basketball team a massive scoring boost.
Vyctorius Miller ranks third on the LSU Basketball team in points per game when you exclude Jalen Reed who is out for the season as Miller is scoring 10.1 points per game. Miller had a quiet start to SEC Play before he got injured but, it takes time to adjust to the physicality of the SEC especially for a Freshman.
Where the Tigers will benefit the most from Miller returning to the lineup is with the boost he’ll give the team as a three point shooter. Against Alabama, LSU hit 13% of their three point attempts making just 3 of 23 attempts, if the Tigers shot even slightly better from deep they could’ve pulled off the win over Alabama. Miller is a 33% shooter from three which ranks him only behind Cam Carter among the players actually in the rotation.
As Miller returns it gives LSU another option off of the bench allowing Matt McMahon to substitute more often. The team has become too reliant on Cam Carter and Jordan Sears but, if Vyctorius Miller or Mike Williams III can find a rhythm it would be a massive impact for the Tigers.
Given that Vyctorius Miller is coming off injury, it’s unclear whether or not he’ll play and how much he will play but, getting him back into the rotation gives LSU’s offense a massive boost.
