Former ECU football coach Houston joining staff at Clemson
Former ECU Head Football Coach Mike Houston is joining the staff at Clemson University.
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Former ECU Head Football Coach Mike Houston now knows where he will be coaching next year.
Houston is headed South to The Palmetto State to join the staff at Clemson University under Dabo Swinney.
He will be a defensive assistant coach with the Tigers. Houston went 27-38 in five-plus seasons as the head coach at ECU.
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Former ECU Head Football Coach Mike Houston is bidding farewell to Pirate Nation.
Houston was fired by ECU this past Sunday following the Pirates’ loss to Army.
Houston shared a post on his X account that reads in part, “The past five and a half years here in Greenville have been an incredible experience for my family and I. We have had the pleasure of coacing some of the most incredible young men we could ever ask to be around.”
Houston also thanked the community.
As our time at East Carolina comes to an end my family and I just want to express our gratitude for the way we have been treated and supported. The last couple of days we have been overwhelmed by the love we have all been shown and the way everyone has embraced us.”
