Trial date set for former LSU football star Trey Holly

Holly was a Union Parish-turned-LSU football star before being accused of attempted murder.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Former Union Parish football standout and LSU running back Trey Holly is set to go to trial on July 7.

Initially charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection to a February 2024 shooting, the grand jury dismissed that charge in April 2024.

However, Holly still faces charges of illegal use of a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property. A judge scheduled two pretrial hearings leading up to the trial, set for May 21 and June 25.

Since his arrest, Holly has been suspended from LSU’s football team.
