The Florida Gators will enter their fourth season under head coach Billy Napier in 2025 after finishing 8-5 in 2024.
The 2024 season was a make-or-break year for Florida, and Napier entered the year on the hot seat following a five-win season in 2022 and a six-win season in 2023.
It did not get any easier for Napier and Florida, as the Gators had one of the more challenging schedules last season. However, they still managed to win eight games.
On3’s Andy Staples ranked the top 10 “toughest” schedules in college football for 2025. Florida came in at No. 2 behind only the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Gators don’t wind up at No. 1 for a second consecutive year because Florida State fell off a cliff and because we aren’t sure how well Miami and Ole Miss will bounce back after losing some important players to the NFL,” Staples said. “But make no mistake, this is still a rough schedule. The week three trip to LSU could tell us a lot about both teams — because they have similar expectations — and Florida follows that with a visit to the Miami team that dominated the Gators in the trenches in Gainesville in 2024.”
Staples believes that Florida’s road game against the LSU Tigers in Week 3 will determine the kind of season the Gators will have.
Here are Florida’s 2025 opponents:

Florida appears to have found its starting quarterback for 2025 in DJ Lagway. Lagway was a former five-star prospect in the 2024 class, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
