Baylor Football announces hiring of three new support staff members
WACO, Texas — Three new members have joined the Baylor Football staff, the University has announced.
Kaeron Johnson will reportedly take the role as Assistant Athletics Director for Football Relations, Connor Killian will be Director of Football Strategy and Jadyn Wells has been named as Director of On-Campus Recruiting, according to head coach Dave Aranda.
Johnson is a former Baylor Bear himself, playing defensive lineman for the team from 2009-2012. He joins the Baylor staff after serving as head football coach at Waco’s University High School. He also previously served as assistant head football coach and defensive coordinator at Midway High School.
As Assistant AD for Football Relations, Johnson will reportedly spearhead relationships with the Texas High School Coaches Association.
Killian is joining the team after serving as the assistant offensive line coach at the University of North Texas for the past two seasons. Killian also spent a season as the assistant tight ends coach at Louisiana Tech in 2022 and as a quality control coach at Texas Tech in 2021, Baylor said.
While at Texas Tech, Killian reportedly worked with the offense and special teams and served as the interim special teams coordinator for the 2021 Liberty Bowl.
Wells comes to Baylor after having worked as an assistant in the Texas Tech football offices for the past six years, according to Baylor. Wells has a bachelor’s in sports management from Texas Tech and is the daughter of Matt Wells, former Utah State and Texas Tech head coach and current associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Kansas State, Baylor said.
