LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey expressed enthusiasm upon learning her team secured a No. 3 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Reflecting on past successes, Mulkey noted, “That 3-seed has been good to us at LSU.”
Demonstrating her commitment to strong fan support, Mulkey purchased all student-section tickets for LSU’s first- and second-round games at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, making attendance free for students. She emphasized the importance of student presence, stating, “We need you to be our 6th man during these playoff games.”
LSU’s first-round matchup is against No. 14 seed San Diego State University. A victory could lead to a second-round game against the winner of the Florida State University versus George Mason University matchup.
Mulkey’s proactive approach aims to create a vibrant home-court atmosphere, underscoring her dedication to the team’s success in the tournament.
