Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has secured a groundbreaking four-year contract extension worth $160 million, averaging $40 million annually, with $123.5 million guaranteed. This deal positions Garrett as the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
The architect behind this historic contract is Nicole Lynn, an alumna of the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Graduating in 2015, Lynn has rapidly ascended in the sports agency world. In 2019, she became the first Black woman to represent an NFL Draft pick when she signed defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, who was selected third overall by the New York Jets. Currently, Lynn serves as the president of football operations at Klutch Sports Group and has authored an autobiography titled “Agent You.”
Lynn’s impressive client roster also includes former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Jalen Hurts. In 2023, she negotiated a five-year, $255 million contract extension for Hurts with the Philadelphia Eagles, which, at the time, was the largest contract by average annual value in NFL history.
Garrett’s extension underscores his exceptional performance on the field. Since being drafted first overall by the Browns in 2017, he has been a cornerstone of their defense, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023.
