Duke Blue Devils’ standout freshman, Cooper Flagg, has assured fans and teammates of his readiness for the upcoming Sweet 16 matchup against the Arizona Wildcats, following a minor eye injury sustained during the NCAA Tournament. Flagg was inadvertently poked in the eye during Duke’s second-round victory over Baylor, leading to visible swelling and bleeding. Despite the injury, he delivered an impressive performance, recording 18 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in 29 minutes of play.
Addressing concerns about his condition, Flagg stated, “Yeah, I’m all good. My eye feels pretty good right now.” This reassurance comes as Duke prepares to face Arizona on Thursday in Newark, New Jersey.
Flagg’s resilience has been evident throughout the season. Earlier, he overcame an ankle injury sustained during the ACC Tournament, demonstrating his determination and commitment to the team’s success.
As the Blue Devils gear up for their Sweet 16 clash, Flagg’s health and performance remain pivotal. His ability to overcome injuries and contribute significantly underscores his importance to Duke’s pursuit of a national championship.
