Indiana men’s basketball guard Myles Rice is the latest Hoosier to enter transfer portal

Indiana men’s basketball guard Myles Rice has officially entered the transfer portal, becoming the latest Hoosier to explore opportunities elsewhere. Rice, a talented 6-foot-3 guard, spent the past season with Indiana but has decided to seek a fresh start as roster changes continue under head coach Mike Woodson.

Rice, who originally committed to Washington State before transferring to Indiana, showcased his ability as a playmaker and defender during his time with the Hoosiers. Though his minutes were somewhat limited in a crowded backcourt, he demonstrated strong ball-handling skills, court vision, and the ability to pressure opposing guards defensively. His departure adds to the list of Indiana players testing the waters of the transfer portal this offseason.

With Rice moving on, Indiana’s backcourt rotation will look different next season. The Hoosiers are expected to be active in the transfer portal themselves, seeking reinforcements to replace outgoing talent and strengthen their roster. Woodson and his staff have emphasized recruiting players who fit their system, and Rice’s departure could open opportunities for new additions.

As the transfer portal continues to reshape college basketball, Rice will look for a program where he can take on a larger role and further develop his game. Indiana, meanwhile, will adjust as it builds toward the future.
