GAINESVILLE, Fla. — In a commendable act of generosity, Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway has announced a six-figure donation from his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) earnings to bolster women’s athletic programs at the University of Florida. This contribution, made in partnership with the Gators’ NIL collective, Florida Victorious, aims to support the gymnastics, women’s basketball, softball, and volleyball teams.
Lagway, a former five-star recruit, has rapidly become a prominent figure both on and off the field. His decision to allocate a substantial portion of his NIL earnings reflects his commitment to fostering equality and supporting fellow student-athletes. “Hard work is the lifeblood of everything we do,” Lagway stated. “I am truly inspired by these women; their passion pushes me to go harder every single day.”
This philanthropic gesture follows Lagway’s recent initiatives aimed at uplifting the Gainesville community. Earlier this month, his foundation raised $50,000 for UF Health community programs benefiting local youth.
