Chicago Blackhawks owner Danny Wirtz is making a major impact beyond the rink with a landmark $5 million donation to the Hockey for All Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to hockey for underrepresented and low-income youth across North America.
Wirtz, known for his commitment to growing the game and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the NHL, announced the donation at a press event held at the United Center. “Hockey should be a game for everyone—regardless of race, gender, or economic background,” Wirtz said. “This is about breaking down barriers and creating real opportunity.”
The contribution will fund free youth hockey programs, equipment grants, coaching clinics, and scholarships, particularly in underserved urban communities. It also includes support for mental health initiatives and mentorship programs to help young players thrive both on and off the ice.
