Mizzou has its first free agent off the board.

Missouri football wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins, per a report Saturday from Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star. The signing was reported shortly after the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Wease follows fellow wide receiver and second-round draft pick Luther Burden III, who went No. 39 overall to the Chicago Bears, as MU wideouts heading to the league.

Three Missouri players heard their name called in this year’s draft, as right tackle Armand Membou was the No. 7 overall selection by the New York Jets, Burden went to the Bears and left tackle Marcus Bryant was a seventh-round pick by the Patriots.

Also reportedly signing with the Dolphins as a free agent, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, is Mizzou running back Nate Noel, which means two Tigers are headed to Miami.

Wease was as reliable as they come for Mizzou in his two seasons in Columbia, really hitting his stride in his final collegiate season.

At times, while the Tigers struggled to get the ball to Burden for long stretches of games, Wease became Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook’s go-to receiver, leading the Tigers’ pass-catchers with 60 catches for 884 yards, including four touchdown receptions.

When Mizzou’s deep passing game stalled, Wease operated efficiently underneath and showed some excellent ability to beat tackles and get yards after contact.

A year earlier in 2023 — Wease’s first season in Columbia — he flashed as a sure-handed outside receiver who excelled in contested catch situations.
