Kansas State football weathered the spring transfer portal window without significant roster damage, and now Chris Klieman and his staff have added a pair of significant players at a position of need.
Facing significant turnover on the offensive line, the Wildcats reached to the portal for veteran depth with the signing of senior transfers JB Nelson from Penn State and Terrence Enos Jr. from Pittsburgh. Both have one year of eligibility left.
Nelson and Enos are the first two portal additions from the spring window and join 12 other transfers who came on board in December.
K-State’s biggest need under new offensive line coach Brian Lepak is on the outside, where the Wildcats lost left tackle Ethan Kilty to the NFL and right tackle Carver Willis to the portal. They did pick up Ohio State transfer George Fitzpatrick in January, but lost Wagner transfer Brandon Sneh toward the end of spring practice.
The Wildcats return starting center Sam Hecht and guard Taylor Poitier, plus veteran backup Andrew Leingang on the interior. They also picked up Amos Talalele from Southern California in December.
Nelson and Enos bring experience both at tackle and guard.
The 6-foot-5, 326-pound Nelson played in 31 games over the past three seasons for Penn State, including eight starts in 2023, when he was named All-Big Ten honorable mention. He played both guard and tackle while accumulating 776 offensive snaps and appeared in three College Football Playoff games this past season for the Nittany Lions.
Enos (6-5, 315 pounds) played in 27 games during his three years at Pitt, including all 13 games in 2024. As a junior last season, he started two games at left tackle, one at left guard, and at right tackle against Toledo in the GameAbove Sports Bowl. He started one game at right tackle against Notre Dame in 2023.
