UCF Knights star back RJ Harvey is headed to the Mile High City. With the 60th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos selected the Big 12 standout and former Virginia Cavaliers QB who transferred back home to Orlando, Fla. His senior year performance culminated in 22 touchdowns and 1,577 yards on 232 carries in 2024. He becomes UCF’s highest-drafted RB in school history. Harvey’s dynamic playmaking ability, both as a receiver and creating behind the line of scrimmage, even with teams stacking the box, left UCF with the most career touchdowns ever scored, at 48. Friday evening, the Colorado-bound star posted an emphatic “Let’s Do It!!!!!!!!!” on his Instagram story over the Broncos’ second-round pick announcement.
Harvey will provide big play potential with his shiftiness and instinctive vision while addressing Sean Payton’s need for a home-run threat when toting the rock. In the 2024 season, 23.3% of his carries went for 10+ yards. He can also catch the ball, scoring three touchdowns and 267 yards. Harvey led the Big 12 with 152 points scored and ranked second in the country, trailing only first-round pick RB Ashton Jeanty from Boise State and now division rival with Las Vegas Raiders. A cornerpiece of UCF’s first couple seasons transitioning to the power conference ranks, he will be revered as an all-time legend in East Orlando, especially after being chosen before teams selected one single player from traditional in-state powers, the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles in the 2025 NFL Draft.
