Chiefs Xavier Worthy Snubbed From PFF Under 25 List
When the NFL kicked off the 2024 season, they wisely pitted the Kansas City Chiefsagainst the Baltimore Ravens in a matchup of two of the most high-profile quarterbacks in the league. That Thursday night in September was supposed to center on Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
It certainly did. But a Chiefs’ rookie stole some of the spotlight for himself. First-round rookie Xavier Worthy scored two touchdowns in that game which the Chiefs won and set the tone for another successful season to win the AFC.
That game proclaimed his arrival on the scene and bad news for Chiefs rivals. Once again they have found another dynamic playmaker in Worthy and he ended up shouldering more of a load than originally thought.
Both Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown missed time with injury last season, so he was forced to make up the difference. Worthy’s numbers do not jump off the page though the eye test provides the evidence to believe in his future prospects.
This made Worthy’s snub from the PFF Top 25 Under 25 list a bit of a surprise. Worthy is a key contributor on a championship contender and has come through in big moments for the Chiefs.
