After being on the 60-day disabled list, the right-hander is reportedly close to rejoining the team, as according to Keegan Matheson, Toronto manager John Schneider confirmed that Scherzer will throw his next bullpen session a day later than planned as a precaution.

Scherzer is expected to make his next start between Tuesday and Thursday of next week against the Cleveland Guardians. Although he is not yet ready to make 100-pitch outings, he would be able to throw around 75.

Scherzer signed a one-year, $15.5 millioncontract with the Blue Jays in February and his absence has conditioned Toronto as the rotation has been limited since his departure in late March.
