Caitlin Clark will express her feelings during the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations between the WNBA and the league’s players association in Indianapolis, amid rival Angel Reese‘s salary structure complaints earlier this year.
Reese, 23, a longtime rival of Clark’s dating back to their days at LSU and Iowa, respectively, took a fresh shot at the salaries on offer in the WNBA after banking $50,000 after winning the inaugural Unrivaled women’s basketball league in the offseason. Unrivaled boasts average wages of $220,000, much larger than what Reese or Clarkearned in their rookie seasons at the Chicago Skyand the Indiana Fever.
Clark will be participating in the next round of WNBA CBA negotiations. “Obviously, the meetings that are going to happen in Indianapolis are gonna be really important. And although I’m not our team rep or on the committee, I’m still trying to understand and engage as much as possible,” Clark said. It comes after she was left in tears after suffering a devastating injury setback on Tuesday.
Obviously, this is my second year in the league, but also this is also a very important time for our league, and where it’s going to continue to grow,” she added. “So I’m certainly looking forward to those meetings, and being in them.
