On Sunday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders. The Cowboys secured the NFC East title and the second overall seed in the NFC with a commanding 38-10 victory.
The Cowboys had a perfect start to the game with their opening two drives.
Positive field position allowed the offense to take control after stopping the commanders on fourth down.
Washington blocked it and returned it all the way down to a touchdown on the fourth and goal, tying the score at seven after having to settle for a field goal from Brandon Aubrey. The ball was moved by the offense just over the 50. An interception came off a tipped pass at the line.
I pondered over myself. Once more, here we go. With seven minutes remaining in the second quarter, Washington added a field goal to take a 10-7 lead.
Tony Pollard had a significant influence on the following attacking play. In the final minute of the first half, Donovan Wilson intercepted Sam Howell. By doing this, the Cowboys were able to apply pressure to Washington.
Prescott’s touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb at the end of the half completed a stunning offensive drive.
The Cowboys led by 21 points at halftime. If the Cowboys won, they would receive the #2 seed and the NFC East championship; however, in the first half of their game against the Giants, the Eagles essentially handed that to Dallas.
He rode down the field by the Cowboys. After falling behind the Giants 24-0, Philly decided to bench their starters.
With the ball in the second half, the Cowboys could put an end to any thoughts of a Washington upset with a touchdown.
The score was extended to 35-10 when Prescott found Brandin Cooks in the endzone’s back corner. The objective of the remaining game was to deplete the clock. I didn’t like that Dak continued to play when the fourth quarter got underway for some strange reason. Brandon Aubrey struck the left upright late in the fourth quarter, missing his first field goal of the season outside of the block early in the contest.
